Job Responsibilities:   ? The Program Director is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of both the School-Based and Community-Based Mentoring Programs. Currently, this position has both Management and Programmatic Responsibilities. These responsibilities are outline below.

Management Responsibilities
? Assist Executive Director in evaluating program staff performance.
? Recommend hiring of Program Specialists as needed.
? Meet with Executive Director to review programs.
? Ensure programmatic expenses stay within set program budgets.
? Complete an annual review of Big Brothers Big Sisters Program Manual. Ensure manual is in compliance with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America “Standards of Practice for One-to-One Service.”

Programmatic Responsibilities
School-Based Mentoring Program
? Develop and maintain a working relationship with principals, teachers, counselors and other school officials.
? Handle program inquires.
? Recruit volunteers and children for the program.
? Interview volunteers and children.
? Assess program eligibility for volunteers and children.
? Match volunteers and children according to Case Management procedures.
? Provide orientation and training for volunteers.
? Provide Case Management support as required by the Program Manual.
? Document match process in case notes.
? Close matches according to policies and procedures.
? Ensure that the Program-Based Outcome Assessment is completed by the volunteers and teachers.
? Complete Program-Based Outcome Assessment for all children in the program.
? Enter all Program-Based Outcome Assessment data into the POE workbooks.
? Ensure all case files are assembled and completed in accordance to the Program Manual.
? Provide monthly statistical reports to Executive Director.
? Input data into the appropriate metrics database.
? Write articles for quarterly newsletter.
? Examine the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America “Agencies-Only” website for information regarding School-Based Mentoring programmatic changes.
? Recommend policy and procedure changes to the Executive Director. Inform the Executive Director of these changes. Implement changes as recommended by the Executive Director and Board. Modify Program Manual to reflect changes in policies and/or procedures.

Community-Based Mentoring Program
? Develop and maintain a working relationship with volunteers, parents, children, social service agencies and the community.
? Handle program inquires.
? Recruit volunteers and children for the program.
? Interview volunteers, parents and children.
? Assess program eligibility for volunteers and children.
? Review potential volunteers with program staff as needed.
? Review potential matches with program staff as needed.
? Match volunteers and children according to Case Management procedures.
? Provide orientation and training for volunteers, parents and children.
? Provide Case Management support as required by Big Brothers Big Sisters Program Manual.
? Refer children to other social service agencies as needed.
? Document match process in case notes.
? Close matches according to policies and procedures.
? Review matches and unmatched children annually according to Big Brothers Big Sisters Program Manual.
? Ensure that the Program-Based Outcome Assessment is completed by the volunteers and parents.
? Ensure all Program-Based Outcome Assessment for all children in the program are completed.
? Enter all Program-Based Outcome Assessment data into the POE workbooks quarterly.
? Ensure all case files are assembled and completed in accordance to Big Brothers Big Sisters Program Manual standards.
? Provide monthly statistical reports to Executive Director.
? Write articles for quarterly newsletter.
? Input data into the appropriate metrics database.
? Examine the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America “Agencies-Only” website for information regarding Community-Based Mentoring programmatic changes. Inform the Executive Director of these changes. ? Coordinate group outings.

Additional Program Manager Responsibilities
? Participate in staff meetings.
? Attend trainings and workshops.
? Complete time cards, mileage sheets and other financial forms according to policy.
? Remain current with the last information about prevention and youth development issues.
? Participate in public speaking engagements as needed.
? Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:   Education and Experience
? Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field.
? Two years of experience with a social service organization.
? Experience working with children, adults, and professional health and welfare agencies.
General
? An understanding of community organizations, community problems, and resources.
? Able to maintain confidentiality.
? Ability to train and counsel clients in relationship building skills, interpersonal communication and conflict mediation.
? Ability to work in a small staff environment.
? Interviewing and writing skills.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills.
? Proficient in Word, Word Perfect and Excel.
? Supervision experience.
? Willingness to take calls after hours and work some evenings and weekends.
? Professional appearance and manner.
? No Criminal History.
? Must be licensed and insured Montana driver with own vehicle. Driving record must meet Big Brothers Big Sisters standards
Salary:   $12 - $12.15 an hour
