Job Responsibilities: |
|
Directs the financial affairs of the organization and prepares financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management. Responsible for the Agency’s accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The position involves supervision over general accounting, grant accounting, and budgetary controls.
More Specifically:
Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
Maintains the Agency’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all Agency transactions and assets.
Prepares reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income and expenses based on past, present, and future operations.
Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures, and analyzes and reports variances.
Is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes various external reports as necessary.
Evaluates and recommends insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
The Controller has the final responsibility for providing effective financial controls for the organization. |

Job Qualifications: |
|
BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree
· CPA preferred, but not required
· 5+ years of accounting experience; non-profit experience preferred
· Familiarity and experience with grant-related accounting preferred
· Excellent computer skills and experience with software including Word, Excel (required), and accounting software
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· 3-5+ years of staff management experience preferred
· Willing and able to travel in our service area as needed
· Willing and able to work whatever hours are necessary to meet goals |

Salary: |

$70,000 - $78,000 |
|
